POSITION DESCRIPTION AND SALARY ADMINISTRATION
Position Descriptions
Each employee's role will have a clearly defined written job description. The description will generally include:Purpose of the position

Working conditions such as working hours, travel requirements (if applicable), etc.
The Executive Director or supervisor may modify job descriptions to meet the evolving needs of The Dashing Dog Parlour, LLC & Dogzilla Pet Studios, LLC.
Salary Administration
Employees will receive their paychecks either biweekly or weekly on Fridays. All salary deductions will be itemized on the paycheck, and may include, but are not limited to:Federal and state income taxes
Social Security
Medicare
State disability insurance
2. WORK REVIEW
Ongoing Performance Reviews
Employee performance will be reviewed regularly in an ongoing dialogue with their supervisor. This allows for continuous feedback and adjustments as necessary to improve job performance and support the employee’s professional development.Annual Performance Review
Each employee will undergo an annual performance review. This formal process is an opportunity for both the employee and supervisor to discuss the past year, address any performance issues, and set clear objectives for the upcoming year. The goal of this review is to foster open, honest communication and positive change within the company.During the review, both parties should have a discussion regarding the employee's contributions, and the supervisor will communicate what is expected from the employee in the coming year.
Both the supervisor and employee will sign the performance review form, which will be kept as part of the employee’s personnel record.
Executive Director’s Role
The Executive Director will review the performance of all supervisors. The performance reviews of other employees are the responsibility of the relevant supervisor, with final confirmation from the Executive Director.
B. SOCIAL SECURITY, MEDICARE, AND MEDICAID
The Dashing Dog Parlour, LLC & Dogzilla Pet Studios, LLC participates in Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid programs. Employee contributions are deducted from each paycheck, and the company also contributes the applicable wage base amount as set forth by federal law.
C. WORKERS’ COMPENSATION AND UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE
Employees are covered by Workers' Compensation benefits as required by law. Accidents occurring on the job must be reported immediately, regardless of whether there are visible injuries. Workers' compensation benefits will not affect any employee’s sick leave balance.
In the event of an on-the-job injury, employees must report the incident to the supervisor and complete the required accident report forms available through The Dashing Dog Parlour, LLC & Dogzilla Pet Studios, LLC.
3. LEAVE BENEFITS AND OTHER WORK POLICIES
A. Holidays
The following holidays will be observed with the salon closed to allow employees time off:
New Year’s Day
Thanksgiving Day + Three days following
Christmas Eve + Three days following
B. Vacation
After 1 year of employement:
Full-time employees will earn 7 hours of vacation per month, Employees must work a minimum of 140 hours with the exception of vacation time used to qualify for earned vacation time each month.
Employees will receive up to 5 days of vacation time in the first year.
Groomers will earn vacation pay based on a 3-month commission average.
Vacation Approval: All vacation requests are subject to approval by the supervisor and the Executive Director and must be submitted in hourly increments. Form must be submitted 8 days before payday.
Carryover: Employees are encouraged to use their vacation benefits during the fiscal year in which they are earned. Unused vacation days may be carried over to the following year only with the approval of the Executive Director. Employees may not accrue more than the maximum allowed vacation days. Once the maximum is reached, employees will cease to accrue additional vacation benefits until they have used some of their vacation time.
C. Sick Leave
Employees are able to use Vacation time accrued for Sick leave with a doctors note.
Documentation: If an employee is absent for 5 or more consecutive days due to illness or injury, a physician’s note will be required.
D. Parental Leave
Employees are entitled to 24 hours of unpaid parental leave per 12-month period to attend or participate in school-related events for their child. Parental leave is unpaid, but employees may use accrued vacation or personal leave for this purpose.
If the leave is foreseeable, the employee must submit a written request at least 10 days prior to the event. If the need for leave is not foreseeable, the employee must request leave as soon as possible.
E. Severe Weather Conditions
The Dashing Dog Parlour, LLC & Dogzilla Pet Studios, LLC will close in the event of severe weather if federal government offices in York County are closed. Employees will be notified of closures.
