Freestyle Dog Grooming Competition is where technical skill meets creativity—and honestly, it’s one of the most entertaining (and unpredictable) events in the grooming world.
At its core, freestyle grooming gives groomers full artistic freedom. Instead of following strict breed standards or traditional trims, competitors transform dogs into living works of art using shaping, carving, styling techniques, or transform a dog into a different breed!
Model Dogs- Misty Maxwell
Model Dog Grooming Competition is where precision, technique, and structure take center stage—just without a live dog.
Instead of grooming a real pet, competitors work on a model dog (a practice mannequin designed to mimic a real coat). This shifts the focus entirely onto the groomer’s technical ability and finish work, without behavior, movement, or coat condition affecting the outcome.
Doodles- Garret Smith
A Doodle Dog Grooming Competition is where modern pet styling takes the spotlight—focusing specifically on the ever-popular doodle coats (think Goldendoodles, Labradoodles, Bernedoodles, etc.).
These competitions are all about mastering one of the most challenging and requested coat types in the industry—and turning it into a polished, functional, and stylish finish.
Content Contest-Megan Cabrera
Participants will be given a specific prompt, skit idea, or theme—and it’s your job to bring it to life in your own unique way. Whether you go funny, dramatic, chaotic, or educational… we want to see your take.
Three Sub- Categories Judged and awarded separately
“Only the strong can be a dog groomer”
Create a Comedy scene showing the daily struggles of a dog grooming - Keep it fun, uplifting, and *non bashing*. (Something everyone including potential clients would laugh at)
2. Bathing with Les Poochs Products-
Show off the Power and relaxation seen in the bathing power of les poochs products.
3. Grooming with Magix Shears -
Show off your favorite Magix Shear while in action!
*Bonus award* All participates in this sub-category will be added to a list of potential future ambassadors.
Salon Creative Kim Viverette
A Salon Creative (at-least 50% Color) Grooming Competition takes everyday salon grooming and turns it up—blending a polished, client-ready groom with bold, intentional color work that makes a statement.
Sporting
Sporting Dog Grooming Competition focuses on one of the most technically demanding coat types in grooming—spaniels and setters. This category highlights precision, hand skills, and an understanding of how to enhance natural movement and structure while maintaining proper coat texture.

Ultimate Tiktok Live Groom- Off
We’re bringing grooming to the spotlight—LIVE.
This isn’t just a competition… it’s real-time skill, pressure, personality, and creativity streamed straight to your screen.
The Concept
Groomers will compete during a TikTok LIVE, completing a groom in real time while viewers watch, engage, and react as it happens. No edits, no filters—just raw talent and salon reality.
What to Expect
Competitors groom live on camera within a set time limit. (Following Groom Team Time Limit)
Viewers can watch the Grooming Portion
Groomers are recommended to buddy up to have a moderator present to Verbalize video comments
Each competitor brings their own style, technique, and energy
How It’s Judged
Magix Ambassadors will be swiping between each live to monitor and watch.
Technical skill – Quality of the groom, finish, and execution
Transformation – Before vs. after impact
Time management – Working efficiently under pressure
Live presence – Engagement, confidence, and ability to perform on camera
Audience interaction (optional bonus) – Keeping viewers hooked

How to Participate
Sign up
Purchase your ticket below and fill out the sign up sheet.
Normal online competition- $35
Ultimate Live Groom off- $50
Submit by July 12th
Submit 4 before photos showing front , back and both sides.
Submit 4 finish photos showing front, back, and both sides.
Submit 4 one minute long video of you grooming the dog at different points of the groom.
Content- Submit no longer than a 30 second Video.

Winners will be announced After the Ultimate Live Groom Off Competition.
Top Submitted Content Videos will be played live before the groom off starts!
